About us
"To be a Christian is to live positively and not destructively, to make ugly things beautiful, and to make chaos meaningful."
~ Max Lucado

We'd love to have you join in on this journey of discovering our faith and how to put that faith into practice. We are open and affirming of all, and no matter where you find yourself on life's journey, you are welcome here.

We are part of the heritage of the Congregational Church which traces its roots back to the Pilgrims and Puritans. Congregationalists who had been worshipping in Connecticut traveled to this area in 1810 and organized this congregation. In 1820 they bought this piece of land and began to build the church building which was dedicated in 1832. The Sunday School began in 1821, meeting from April to cold weather. In 1887, the stained glass windows were added and the current steeple was put in place in 1954 along with the addition for the Fellowship room, Sunday School rooms and offices. The cornerstone located by the front doors contain historical items of the church. The pipe organ was donated by Mrs. John D. Rockefeller in 1896 and still helps lead the worship each Sunday.

We are now a part of the United Church of Christ, which is a union of the Congregational Christian Church and the Evangelical Reform Church which took place in 1957. We share in a long history of following Jesus Christ; caring for our community; sharing in worship, learning, music, fellowship, and growing together in faith and service.

We live out and grow in our faith through worship, bible study, Sunday School, fellowship groups, mission trips, music programs, dinners, book club, and many community outreach programs.

We hope you will always feel welcome here!
